I was responsible for redesigning existing printed letters and creating corresponding online articles for Apple's repair process. The existing letters were too long, too complex, in the wrong languages, and all over the place in terms of style. I researched the return process for each product and region by interviewing Apple employees across the globe. I reduced the letters to small inserts that were highly rated by customers worldwide (including the one that made the linked video). The letters leveraged existing articles and some new ones I created about getting your device ready for service and linked to new articles I wrote about how to send your device for service with region-specific return information. For this project, I wrote and maintained about 40 printed letters and over 100 online articles across all of Apple's product lines.
I donate my time to Girl Scouts and sharpen and evolve my social media skills in the process. I'm always trying new ways to connect with parents, get them involved, and help them feel like part of our troop community. I have a private Facebook page for photos, news, and events, and a Google Doc with troop policies and schedule (feel free to reach out to me for temporary access to either of these if relevant to what you need). I run an occasional troop newsletter distributed over email.
Girl Scouts also keeps my technical writing skills sharp, as they use Salesforce's software to sign girls up for troops. I've created online instructions for the most common tasks parent volunteers in my troops need to perform, including how to sign up for Girl Scouts and how to renew your Girl Scout membership.
I served as the managing editor of DarkDaily.com, an email newsletter targeted towards managers of laboratories, from its launch in 2006 through 2008. These are some examples of the medical news articles I wrote:
