Hi, I'm Sylvia!

I've been leading Girl Scout troops for eight years. I enjoy teaching girls of all ages outdoor, planning, and life skills. Being a troop leader has pushed me out of my comfort zone on many occasions and I'm thankful for all the great life experiences and memories made with my girls!

I have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 4 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, and 9 fish. I do my best thinking walking my dogs in remote areas miles away from my cell phone. I compete in dog agility trials and foster dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens for animal rescues and shelters.

I love listening to music, singing, and playing instruments (piano, cello, and 3 chords on the guitar). My favorite way to listen is the radio in my car. I can't get enough of seeing singer-songwriters live in intimate venues with my husband. My current favorite venue is the Castle Theater in Bloomington, IL.

I love discovering new places. I particularly like parks where I can hike and explore, lakes where I can swim, amusement parks where my kids can convince me to ride scary roller coasters, and well-designed urban spaces where I can walk to everything. My last trip was around the Lake Michigan shoreline with lots of swimming stops and a ferry ride to Mackinac Island.
